On October 10th, Holland Kapstafer was awarded the Ad Altare Dei emblem.  The Ad Altare Dei (meaning the alter of God) is awarded as part of a program to help Catholic Boy Scouts of the Roman Rite develop a fully Christian way of life in the faith community.  The most important aspect of the program is that the Scout grow in his spiritual experience and more fully fulfills the part of the Scout law “A Scout is Reverent”.  It is a wonderful honor and we are proud of Holland for this achievement on his journey.

On October 2nd – 3rd, Troop 325 hiked into St. Regis Lake on the back side of Lookout Pass on the Idaho / Montana border. We lucked out once again with fantastic weather and excellent hiking conditions. We ended up camping at the upper lake to avoid other hikers and made camp along the lake shore. We were treated to spectacular fall colors and a noisy beaver that interrupted one of our skills slapping his tail on the water. During the clear night sky we, Mr. Senske gave us an incredible star and constellation tour of the skies above us. It was a great trip and a last opportunity to enjoy that particular as it will be altered with the planned expansion of the Lookout Pass Ski Resort the coming year.
