Feb 21

On February 18th-21st over President’s Day Weekend, Troop 325 took it’s annual trip up into the Methow Valley for 4 days of skiing and high adventure.  Kyle Wilkenson lead the trip that headed out on Friday evening and hit the trail into the hut system starting at about 10:00 p.m.  It was a full moon and the group was able to ski into Gardner Hut without the use of any lights.  We were casting shadows the moon was so bright on the snow.  Despite the late evening, there was lots of skiing to be had the next day followed by a cross country biathlon with paint ball guns target shooting.  Sunday took the group out for a 15 mile skiing adventure to Helfer Hut where they refueled for the ski home.  Excellent weather once again was the order of the weekend along with excellent skiing conditions.  We couldn’t have asked for better accommodations and conditions for this great adventure.  We’ll look forward to getting some of our newer cross country skiers in the Troop up this next year.
